Porcelain Veneers

If you are unhappy with your smile due to cracks or chips in your teeth, gaps, discoloration, or poor alignment, porcelain veneers can be a great way to improve your smile’s appearance. They offer a natural-looking solution to help brighten and reshape your smile. We offer a variety of options at our practice, including Lumineers®, CEREC® veneers, and composite veneers. Your specific aesthetic wishes, as well as the color, position, and bite of your teeth will help us to create an individualized treatment plan. Your veneers will be custom-made to best fit your needs.

Utilizing the Finest Materials to Achieve Naturally Beautiful Smiles

Porcelain veneers are the ultimate in enduring beauty. They are unmatched in natural artistry and conservative treatment. Veneers are usually less than one millimeter, like a contact lens, in thickness and are bonded directly to the teeth. They are made from porcelain in the shade that you choose and can instantly correct tooth discoloration, chips, old fillings, misaligned teeth, and other smile deficiencies. They can last indefinitely and with proper brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups they are proving to be some of the longest lasting restorations we can do in dentistry. Since they go only on the outside of the teeth, sensitivity is seldom in issue.

Porcelain Veneers Procedure

On your consultation visit, we will show your our large gallery of smile makeovers so you can choose what fits your desires. We will then formulate a plan and decide what treatment fits your needs the best. The tooth color, position of the gums, and your bite will be discussed and together we will decide on treatment that will give the most stable long-term results. We used several different porcelain systems depending upon the particular needs of the patient.

We use some of the finest ceramists in the world for our Cosmetic Porcelain Veneers. Although the fee may be slightly higher, they provide a level of beauty that is unsurpassed in the cosmetic dentistry world. Our gallery features a variety of patients with several different porcelain systems. We match patient needs with their cosmetic wants to create a natural beauty and excellence that we expect to last for decades. Because these veneers are extremely thin, less than a half a millimeter, they blend in naturally with the teeth with almost no tooth preparation.

Lumineers are very popular in today’s cosmetic world. They are particular brand of porcelain, Cerinate, made by a single lab, DenMat. No preparation veneers have been done by Eureka Dental Arts dentist, Steve Matthews, for almost 20 years; and in the correct cases, conservation of tooth structure is always a priority in our practice. Most patients when asking for Lumineers are really asking for us to do no or minimal tooth reduction which is what we do on every case regardless of the type of lab or porcelain we choose. We only reduce tooth structure when needed and only enough to guarantee an excellent result regardless of which porcelain or lab we use.

Composite Veneers

Composite is a resin with glass particles in it. As you will see in our Cosmetic Composite Veneer section in our gallery, these can be as natural and esthetic as porcelain veneers. The teeth require just slight surface roughening and then the material is sculpted right on the tooth surface with various layers. Usually the veneers are finished in a single appointment with a shorter follow up visit for refinements. The result is very natural beauty and is more cost effective than porcelain. In the right case composite veneers can be a great cosmetic option but they are more prone to staining and chipping than porcelain and repairs are the patient’s responsibility after the first year.
